July 9, 10 & 11, 2010
Here's the deal for the Road Trip:
8 a.m., Saturday: We depart from Gridley (Call for Directions)
10 a.m.: Arrive at the Show site. (Cost of admission varies for each show) We will spend the day at the show, but go out for
lunch, so plan on bringing lunch money, as well as some cash to enter the raffles!
After the show, we may all go out to dinner if we're not too exhausted, and then head for home that evening.
ROAD TRIP!!!
Anyone who wants to come along is welcome, however, seating is limited, so let me know as soon as you can if you are
interested in attending. We will be taking a conversion van, so there is comfortable seating for 7 adults, but if we need more
seating, arrangements can be made for another vehicle, but I need to know in advance. (Of course, you CAN drive up yourself
if you want to, but who would want to?) Refreshments and snacks will be served on the way up and back. There is plenty of
room for plants in the back of the van, and I will bring insulated fish boxes for any fish purchased, so if you want something
REALLY spectacular, or you just want to have a great time, plan on coming! Please e-mail me to reserve your seat at
pondgal@gridcom.net.
Here in Illinois, we are fortunate to have a number of small, local pond and water garden clubs, as well as two large, very
active koi clubs. The Midwest Pond and Koi Society hosts an annual Koi and Goldfish Show in July, and an annual pond tour of
residential Chicagoland ponds for two consecutive weekends in July. Koi shows and pond tours are a lot of fun, and wonderful
learning experiences for all levels of koi and goldfish keepers. Passion for Ponds hosts annual road trips to shows hosted by the
Midwest Pond and Koi Society to anyone interested in attending these fine shows. More information on Road Trips is at the
bottom of this page.
